Emblematic Mass Timber Projects
During their presentations at Semana de la Madera, CMPC Maderas and Niuform showcased some of their most representative recent projects, reflecting the potential of mass timber for sustainable construction.
Among the highlights was Claro Arena—the new stadium of Universidad Católica—built with 1,500 cubic meters of glued laminated timber beams. This innovative sports facility marks a milestone for the national industry, demonstrating the versatility, strength, and beauty of Chilean wood in large-scale projects.
The new Fundación TAD Campus was also featured, the first institutional mid-rise building in Chile constructed with CLT (Cross Laminated Timber). The project combines structural efficiency, sustainability, and contemporary design.
At the international level, the expansion of the UWC Costa Rica School stood out—an educational project built with mass timber sourced from Chile—showcasing the opportunities this material offers for promoting sustainable construction across Latin America.
Another emblematic project was the Teletón Gymnasium in Rancagua, built with mass timber at the region’s rehabilitation center in O’Higgins. It is a clear example of how this material brings warmth and well-being while fostering sports and inclusivity in community spaces.
These projects reflect the commitment of CMPC Maderas and Niuform to innovation, sustainability, and the development of timber-based solutions that contribute to a more conscious and environmentally responsible future.
