Powell Valley Millwork Achieves FSC® Certification: A Key Step Toward a More Sustainable and Competitive Operation

At CMPC Maderas, sustainability isn’t just a goal — it’s the foundation of how we operate. That’s why we’re proud to share a significant milestone on our journey toward greater environmental responsibility: Powell Valley Millwork, part of CMPC USA, has officially earned FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council® – FSC-C119321) certification, joining CMPC’s global multisite certificate.

In May, our facilities in Clay City and Jeffersonville, Kentucky, underwent a successful third-party audit and achieved FSC certification for the first time. This internationally recognized standard ensures that wood products are sourced from responsibly managed forests that meet rigorous environmental, social, and economic criteria.

This certification is a testament to the rigorous work and ongoing commitment of our teams to ensure our products are sourced responsibly and sustainably,” said Darwin Morales, Certification Lead at CMPC Maderas.

We especially want to recognize the dedication of those involved in both the internal and external audits — their professionalism was key to reaching this milestone.

This achievement not only enhances CMPC Maderas’ value proposition in the North American market, but also reinforces our role as an active contributor to building a more sustainable forest products industry — one that supports responsible supply chains and drives long-term global impact.
